Welcome to Juneau Vacation Homes! We are Adam and Ash, and we have two young daughters, Penelope and Marjorie. In 2013, shortly after college, young, broke and looking for an adventure we made the crazy move (or at least that's what are friends and family called us) from Cleveland, Ohio to Juneau, Alaska. Since the day we arrived, the stunning beauty and breathtaking wilderness of this incredible region has captured our hearts.
I first fell in love with Southeast Alaska while on family trip during my teenage years. I could have never imagined that trip would set the stage for a lifetime of adventure (Thanks Grandma!!). One rainy September day I received an email about a transfer/promotion opportunity and knew this was my chance. Ash and I had been dating a little over a year at this time and I was terrified I'd have to choose between her and this opportunity. I nervously showed her the email, to my shock, she laughed and said, "lets go!". Less than a month later we were saying goodbye to our family, friends and the only area either of us had ever called home.
Making the move from Cleveland to Juneau was not for the faint of heart, but with determination and hard work, we have persevered and found endless opportunities here. We worked long hours (and played longer ones) while we saved every penny, we could for the downpayment on our 1st home. We lived in the 1-bedroom apartment while renting out the main house as a vacation rental and slowly grew our vacation rental hosting business from there.
6 years into our Alaskan adventures we decided it was time to take another big leap and expand our family. Our 2 amazing daughters, Penelope and Marjorie, are growing up in the midst of this incredible landscape, surrounded by the beauty of the wilderness and the excite of Juneau. They have learned to love and appreciate the world around them, and we hope they are being shaped by the experiences and culture that we have here.
Aside from our love for hiking and exploring, we have a passion for sharing our experiences and helping others discover the beauty of the world around them.
